Each month, Antilles’ Alumni Affairs and College Counseling offices bring to campus alumni interested in sharing their academic and professional experiences with groups of seniors (this semester) and juniors (next semester). While September’s Lunch ’N Learn – each session takes place over a pizza lunch – gave seniors a chance to learn more about the law from alumae Su-Layne Walker (’00) and Briana Adams (’12), this month’s special Halloween edition brought to campus media whizzes Cooper Penn (’02) and Vernon Araujo (’02), who spoke about their evolving friendship and their efforts to continue working together as they built their parallel careers.
Penn and wife Nita own their own media studio, based out of St. John, but have distinguished themselves with photo campaigns on the mainland and within the region. Penn has worked for the likes of Victoria Secret, H&M and others, while Araujo, who also serves as the spokesperson and Communications Director for the Family Resource Center, has also started his own company, the popular #MeleeMedia. The two have continued to work together over the years and spoke to students about the importance of maintaining their own network as they move forward within the industry.
