Dear Antilles Community,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I extend warm wishes to you and your families for a joyful and safe holiday season.
As Trustees of Antilles School, we are immensely proud of the institution we serve and are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a thriving school community. There is much to take pride in and to celebrate as we reach the midway point in the year and prepare to enjoy some time away.
A little over three months ago, the Year of CommUNITY commenced with over 520 enrolled students and a dynamic team of teachers and administrators poised to deliver excellence. Since our classrooms opened this fall, the Antilles Advantages have grown in size and scope. Programmatically, our seniors are beginning to see college acceptance letters, the Lady Canes won the varsity volleyball island championship, and our students are excelling as spelling bee champions, ballroom dancers, musicians, competitive athletes and engaged leaders and learners. Physically, the MCM Center is now solar powered, a generous donor has facilitated the future expansion of our campus to include land across the street from the School, new technologies are alive in our classrooms, and the retaining wall behind the upper school passed the test of the recent rainstorms with flying colors. In the Advancement arena, numerous successful on and off-campus events have generated great exposure for Antilles and broadened our reach into the community.
As a Board, we remain more energized and excited than ever about today’s successes and about the possibilities for Antilles’ future. During the second half of the school year, we will continue our work with Dr. Hughes on the implementation and evolution of the School’s strategic plan. This dynamic five-year plan can be found on Currents and outlines three strategic goals for Antilles:
- Academic Excellence in College Preparation
- Community Connectedness
- Financial Sustainability
The Year of CommUNITY has taken shape nicely, and the School’s successes are the result of many members of the Antilles Family working together towards a common goal. Thank you for all of your support! With the strength and passion of the Antilles community beneath its wings, our school remains poised for continued greatness during the second half of this academic year and for years to come.
Happy holidays! May the season be filled with festive and fulfilling moments for you and yours.
President, Board of Trustees
