On Thursday, May 15, at 7PM, Greg Zaiser, Vice President of Admissions and Financial Planning at Elon University, will offer a talk on planning for college, including information and perspective on how to find the right college, earn an offer of admission, and pay for higher education. In recent years, admissions officers from the University of Miami and Loyola University Maryland have offered similar overview programs that have been of great benefit to students and parents. For this year’s program, we are inviting all students and parents in Grades 9, 10 & 11 to attend, because everything that students do from the start of 9th grade, especially in academics and extracurricular activities, will be included in their college admissions evaluations. While Mr. Zaiser will not speak about Elon specifically, it is worth mentioning that College Counselor Chris Teare extended the invitation during a visit last week to Elon’s North Carolina campus, where Mr. Teare saw how much the university has accomplished since his first visit in 2008, all of it confirming why Elon has raised its profile dramatically in recent years. If you have any questions about this program in particular, or the college process in general, please call Mr. Teare at x3702 or email him directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
