Assessments/Visit Days

Toddler Program - A 30-minute appointment for the toddler and his/her parent(s) is scheduled beginning in March. The applicant is engaged in age-appropriate play with an ELC teacher or staff member and parents are asked to provide general information about their child’s daily activities.

Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and First Grade - Applicants are invited to spend a morning in a current classroom with his/her peer group.

Grades 2 through 5 - Applicants are invited to spend a day in their current grade. In addition to participation in the classroom, students applying to Grades 4 and 5 are given a 45 minute standardized test to assess reading and mathematics skills.

Grades 6 through 12 - Applicants to Grades 6 through 12 are required to complete testing to help measure writing skills, reading comprehension, reasoning and mathematics. These tests are designed to assess a student’s ability and achievement and include both standardized and in-house evaluation tools. Testing is scheduled in March, April, May and June. Candidates who apply before the end of March are also invited to spend a day on campus to complete testing, meet teachers and administrators and spend some time with peers in his/her current grade.

All Grades - In some cases, candidates are asked to visit a second time; testing is only done once. Antilles reserves the right to request additional information if the Admission Committee is unable to render a decision with the standard application.
