Establish a legacy

The Class of 2018 includes two of Antilles' longest serving faculty, Karen Bertrand and Willie Wilson. Together they have taught generations of our students and even generations of our families, inspiring artistic talent and intellectual curiosity.

To celebrate their careers and service, and to continue their legacy at Antilles, a generous group of donors have established a $20,000 matching gift challenge to launch two endowed scholarship funds.

The Karen Bertrand Scholarship

Honoring Karen Bertrand, who has inspired and cultivated artistic talent in Antilles students, and opened possibilities and opportunities. The Karen Bertrand Scholarship will provide assistance to students who share Karen's passion and creativity.

The Willie Wilson Scholarship

Through his inimitable story-telling and interest in history, Willie Wilson has invited students to explore their ability to write and communicate creatively. The Willie Wilson Scholarship will provide assistance to students who share Willie's appreciation for intellectual curiosity.

The $20,000 Matching Challenge

With thanks to the vision and generosity of the following donors, all donations to both The Karen Bertrand Scholarship and The Willie Wilson Scholarship will be matched dollar for dollar up to a total of $20,000. To share your support, either through a one-time or a monthly donation, please donate online today.

All donations are tax deductible. Gifts made via credit card allow donors to earn the affinity points associated with their credit card. Some donors may realize tax advantages by donating securities. To donate shares in publicly traded entities, contact the Advancement Office, and please consult your investment advisor.

Our gratitude to these donors for making this matching challenge possible.

About Endowed Funds

Antilles' endowment provides crucial support and financial strength for the School. Funds within the endowment are permanently restricted by donors at the time their donation is made. The endowment is strategically managed and invested to provide a consistent return, approximately 3 to 4% annually.

The income gained through this strategic management is then used to achieve the donors' objectives leaving the principal intact and providing revenue in perpetuity. Investing in the endowment is truly a gift that keeps on giving. By continuing to increase our endowment each year, Antilles will continue to be financially stronger and more secure for generations to come.

The EE Ford Foundation Matching Gift

In June 2018, The EE Ford Foundation generously approved Antilles' proposal requesting a donation of $100,000 as matching gift one a 1:2 basis. All donations to both The Karen Bertrand Scholarship and The Willie Wilson Scholarship qualify for this match as well. Therefore every $1,000 donated to these funds is worth $2,500 to Antilles.

To have your gift matched TWICE please make your one-time or recurring donation today.

If your employer matches your giving you can further enhance your support of Antilles. Please contact the Advancement Office for more information and assistance.

Our thanks and gratitude to these donors for making these scholarships and the opportunities that come with them possible:

"Karen and Willie inspired me to teach and taught me time is the greatest gift."

"

I believe that age is a time when the spark of a person's intellectual curiosity is first ignited. Willie helped fan that flame into a inferno that still burns today with his passion for teaching, unique lesson plans and creative classroom engagement.
