Ian Tacquard, Director of Advancement

Ian’s natural desire to “give back” and “pay it forward” has allowed him to pursue a career dedicated toward building and launching donor relationships, events, and fundraising activities. It all started when he was afforded the opportunity to attend an independent school through subsidized tuition.

Following graduation from the University of Oregon, Ian returned to St. Margaret’s Episcopal School in a development role as the Campaign Manager. Immediately he was challenged with managing the culmination of a successful $20M capital campaign. This experience solidified a mission-driven career path dedicated to philanthropy. In his role, one of his greatest achievements at St. Margaret’s was building a comprehensive alumni program from the ground up that is still thriving today.

Transitioning his skill set from education into healthcare, over the past five years Ian has worked for two of the largest faith-based health systems in the country, Providence St. Joseph Health in Southern California and most recently, Ascension Health / AMITA Health in the greater Chicago area. In both roles, Ian focused on increasing donor engagement and driving revenues through key fundraising programs, generating over $10M.

Outside of the office Ian volunteers his time as a member of the Alumni Board at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, an Ambassador for Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and an Alumni Board Member at the University of Oregon. He enjoys traveling, cooking, finding new local hot spots and spending weekends with family and friends.

Born and raised in Orange County, California, Ian was introduced to the Virgin Islands at a young age when his brother started a bed and breakfast on St. John. For more than 20 years, Ian has visited his parents, brother and sister-in-law on St. John where they have established and operated local businesses. So, this move to the islands feels a bit like coming home.
