Video Yearbook Release

"We wanted to show our teachers how much we love them. They have made an impact on the school, and they inspire us," says Solana Suazo '18.

Solana's tribute to teachers Willie Wilson and Karen Bertrand is part of this year's Video Yearbook lineup, produced by John Riggle and the Film as Lit class. Chronicling the school year in this eight piece series, our students also celebrate with thoughtful humor, warmth, and affection the people and experiences at Antilles that have meant the most to them.

Congratulations to Solana, Michael Derrickson '18Varuna Mirchandani '18, Jack Habib '18, Shaw Clements '18, Micah Hill '18, Julia Cassinelli '18, and Sherde Nicholas '18 on this momentous accomplishment!

Lending a Hand

This year's print yearbook is also inspired by the strength and resilience of our island community. With images literally built by the hands of each Antilles student, Horizons 2018 is a celebration of our recovery.

Can't wait to get your hands on your copy? Stay tuned - order forms are coming soon!

Congrats, Bryce!

Bryce Richardson '27 finished in the top five at this year's St. Thomas-St. John District Primary Spelling Bee. Bryce credits his classmates, parents, and coach Rebecca Rodriguez for creating a dedicated practice routine that helped him succeed.

"We really are a team," Bryce said. "I didn't finish first this year, but having help from my friends and family makes me confident that I can next year."

Well done, Bryce!

Let's Be Fair

"Being fair means giving each person what he or she needs to be successful," first graders said at Friday's Lower School morning meeting. To demonstrate, the class pretended to be patients in a doctors office, where they were all given by "nurse" Nikki Fagan the same Band-Aid for different injuries.

The class concluded that, just like at the doctor, there's no one-size fits all solution.

Our thanks to Nikki and Verian Tuttle for inspiring this creative lesson!

Prince and Princess!

Wear your Antilles' Hurricanes Irma and Maria shirt or pick up a Prince Maike Caracciolo '24 tee in the front office before Sunday's V.I. Carnival Prince and Princess Competition. The event starts at 5PM in Lionel Roberts Stadium and we hope you'll join us there to cheer Maike on as he takes the stage.

and in other news...

Congratulations to our V.I. Opti team, who recently returned from Montevideo, Uruguay and the 2018 Optimist South American Championship. Alexis Young '23, Caroline Sibilly '22, Katherine Majette '23, Tanner Krygsveld '25, Winborne Majette '23, and Joseph Croney won the bronze for team racing in the Nations Cup. Winborne also won the silver fleet.
