Position Overview

Antilles School is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Accountant/Business Office Associate who will report to the Chief Financial Officer. This position will perform accounting and administrative duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of transactions, following the standards of Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong accounting skills and possess a high level of professionalism. An understanding of, and a commitment to, a culturally and ethnically diverse population is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Monthly financial close journal entry preparation, including but not limited to, expense accruals/reversals/allocations, depreciation expense, and revenue recognition
• Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• External audit and tax preparation assistance
• Record keeping – hard and soft copies of cash receipt and disbursement documents maintained accurately and timely
• Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
• Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
• Prompt and regular attendance at Antilles School Business Office

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline preferred
• 2+ years of hands-on accounting in an office environment

The Administrative Assistant to the Buildings and Grounds Manager and MCM Manager provides high-level clerical support, performing a variety of secretarial duties and skilled tasks that may include preparing reports, conducting research, and collecting data.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• May train, supervise, schedule, and provide feedback on tasks performed by other clerical and maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

• May conduct research (within skills and expertise) to assist with projects or inquiries.

The Buildings and Grounds Manager will oversee maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds to ensure the efficient operation of all equipment and facilities used throughout the property, as well as coordinating safety and security programs for the school.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Hires, supervises, and trains employees who maintain buildings and grounds.
• Coordinates the day-to-day workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the department.

Responsibilities

• Manages and supervises the administration, improvement, maintenance, safety and general operations of the facility.
• Supervises and schedules in house and contracted buildings and grounds maintenance and cleaning staff.
• Maintains adequate maintenance and cleaning supplies.
• Designs, schedules, and coordinates general upkeep, major repairs, remodeling, or construction projects of the property.
• Determines whether repairs and/or maintenance are needed based on regular inspections of the grounds, facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
• Drafts and implements routine maintenance schedules and standards; ensures compliance with these standards.
• Collaborates regularly with the Head of School to identify renovation or construction needs.
• Prepares job estimates and bids for projects to be completed by outside contractors.
• Inspects and approves work performed by outside contractors.
• Ensures safety standards are followed throughout the property, to include evaluating and implementing safety and security protocols.
• Manages the process of obtaining required operational safety certifications and permits.
• Evaluates effectiveness of security and surveillance equipment on school property.
• Researches and recommends additions and improvements to the safety management program, particularly in areas such as emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
• Coordinates with local law enforcement, emergency management agencies, and other appropriate health and safety professionals in matters of public safety involving students and staff.
• Oversees emergency response procedures in conjunction with Senior Leadership.
• Maintains an inventory of all maintenance equipment.
• Prepares the departmental budget; reviews monthly financial reports for compliance with budget.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Director of Lower School serves a central role in the school’s leadership and daily administration of the Early Learning Center and Lower School. Position Overview

Antilles School seeks an experienced teacher with expertise in supporting students with mild to moderate learning differences to partner with other resource and counseling staff in the Learning Resource Program. This is a faculty position with a 10.5 month contract.

The Learning Resource Program serves students in grades 6-12 with mild to moderate learning differences who are experiencing difficulty with school success. The program features inclusion, stand-alone classes, peer tutoring, and after-school study assistance led by the resource teacher who also provides up-to-date information on current research, trends, and best practices to classroom teachers and parents.

The Resource Teacher builds the capacity of the school to teach academic skills, foster intellectual habits, nurture a growth mindset, and cultivate a strong culture of achievement for all students. The Resource Teacher is an active member of the Student Support Team, develops and manages modified educational plans, behavior improvement plans, and other student support initiatives, liaising with teachers, school counselors, and external professionals as needed.

As a teacher, this individual must create a flexible educational program and friendly learning environment that provides specialized instruction and learning activities in order for students to benefit from their educational experience to the greatest extent possible.

The Learning Resource Program Teacher has excellent interpersonal, communication, and technology skills. Key responsibilities:

• Works with students, teachers and other faculty to create strategies that promote a greater chance of academic success.
• Implements intervention and advising strategies for teachers and students alike.

As a Repairer/Maintenace Worker you will be performing general repairs to the facility.

Responsibilities

• Performs general plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs to the facility’s equipment and systems.
• Inspects and troubleshoots equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
• Performs general repairs and preventative maintenance that do not require a specialized technician.
Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.

Physical Requirements
