The Antilles School Middle and Upper School science department is seeking a visionary science teacher and STEM coordinator committed to creative content delivery, including hands-on activities and experiences, and an enthusiastic willingness to collaborate with colleagues. The STEM coordinator will work on science and technology programming and curriculum in 5th-8th grade. Coordinator responsibilities include:
- Building a STEM curriculum for grades 5-8 and supporting teachers in implementing that curriculum.
- Building experiential learning experiences into the 6-8th grade science program.
- Overseeing lab and STEM equipment management.
The current position also includes teaching 7th-grade Life Science and STEM and working directly with 6th-grade teachers in the STEM class.

School Counselor, Grades Toddler-Fifth

Position description:
Antilles School is seeking a dynamic and talented School Counselor to join a committed team of educators in a collaborative environment that places a high value on the whole child. Ideal candidates are passionate and self-motivated professionals, prepared to teach and nurture young children and support a wide range of learning styles and abilities. An understanding of and a commitment to, a culturally and ethnically diverse population is essential.
The School Counselor provides student support services including one-on-one counseling, small group counseling, crisis response, in addition to making referrals to educational support professionals, teaching Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills, and communicating the needs and progress of the child with the student’s teachers and family. The School Counselor implements the school counseling program, aligning communications and activities with the American School Counselors’ Association’s (ASCA) model and the School’s mission and philosophy. The School Counselor advocates on behalf of the student.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build rapport and maintain professional, positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Engage in SEL practices, mindfulness, restorative justice, and positive behavior supports.
- Maintain knowledge of current research, trends, and best practices related to school counseling.
- Share expertise with faculty and staff, providing classroom support, ideas and suggestions.
- Be familiar and ensure compliance with ADA, FERPA, and HIPPA statutes as these apply to students’ rights to privacy and school communications and reports.
- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program for grades toddler -5th via direct and indirect services.
- Direct services including individual and small-group counseling, crisis response, peer mediation, teaching SEL lessons and workshops, guiding student reflection and goal setting, planning Character Counts activities, and utilizing “push-in” classroom support practices.
- Indirect Services including participating on the Student Support Team (SST), communicating student progress with teachers and families, and collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to provide accommodations, evaluation referrals, and guidance on strategies for supporting strong social emotional and academic development.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential student records.
- Participate meaningfully in faculty meetings, professional development, and SEL program planning.
- Promote the School, its mission, its philosophy, and its programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Head.
Qualifications include:
- BA or higher, required, a Masters’ degree in the field of social services with certification in school counseling preferred
- Strong preference for counseling and classroom experience
- Knowledge of and ability to apply the ethical standards and principles of the school counseling profession and adherence to the legal aspects of the role of the school counselor including those statutes outlined in ADA, HIPPA, and FERPA
- Ability to foster positive relationships based on mutual respect and trust
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multiple constituencies
