Board of Trustees

Beverly Drew-Petrus (VP/Trustee Chair) was born and raised on St. Thomas. She is a marketing specialist, with a BA in business administration from Webber College in Florida, who spent her earlier career in the hospitality industry (e.g. Marriott Frenchman’s Reef, Hard Rock Café, USVI Department of Tourism), and is now vice president of the portfolio of companies (e.g. Subway, PG gas stations, Petrus Plaza, and Sbarro restaurant) that she owns with her husband, Allie Petrus. They have two daughters, one who currently attends Antilles, and one who is an alum (’12). 

Mike Allietta (Treasurer/Finance and Investment Chair) is president of the International Private Bank (IPB) located in the USVI, which oversees investment management, asset allocation, tax planning, and operational integration across a broad portfolio of Stephenson Family companies.  Prior to IPB, Mike was a founding partner of a private equity firm focused on lower middle-market healthcare businesses, and a senior manager at ICMC, leading financial planning and investment services lines. He graduated magna cum laude from Babson College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

Joanne Moorehead (Secretary/Advancement Chair) is a writer-editor with 20+ years’ experience in advancement, media, PR, and the publishing industry. Amongst many professional highlights, she earlier in her career managed development initiatives for a stateside university and K-12 schools; more recently served as chief of protocols for the Office of the Governor in the US Virgin Islands, and currently is an entrepreneur with an interior design firm and a hospitality rental business on St. Thomas. She is also the author of two children’s books. Joanne was born and raised in St. Thomas, and is an Antilles’ alum (Class of ’95).

Celso E. Vargas (Regulatory Chair) has three decades of financial management experience. He is currently VP of Accounting for the Guardian Insurance Company. He has a BA in Accounting from the Inter-American University in Puerto Rico, and holds an MBA with a concentration in finance. Celso has also contributed accounting services to non-profits including the United Way of St. Thomas-St. John, and chairs the Regulatory committee of the Antilles Board. He and his wife Julia (born and raised in St. Thomas), have one child who attends Antilles. 

Carol Baker Robinson is an executive with Marriott International, and currently serves as director of Finance & Accounting for the Ritz-Carlton in St. Thomas, USVI.  She graduated from Pace University (Lubin School of Business) in New York with a BS in Accounting. She and her husband Donovan moved their family to St. Thomas ten years ago, and have two children, both of whom attended Antilles (’22 and ’18). Carol also serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Club of St. Thomas/St. John, and on the Virgin Islands Tennis Association.

Dr. Marilyn Braithwaite-Hall, Ph.D has a background in higher education administration, research, organizational consulting, counselling, wellness program development and personal coaching. Her degrees and training include Tufts University (BA); Harvard University (Ed.M.); Northeastern University (PhD); Georgia State University (Post doc); and a personal coaching certification. Born in Jamaica and raised in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Boston, she has lived in the Virgin Islands since 2009. Her spouse Dr. David Hall is the 5^th president of the University of the Virgin Islands, and they have two daughters, both of whom attended Antilles (Sakile ’11 and Kiamsha ’09 –’12).

Angelina Daswani was born and raised in Hong Kong, and after graduating from Hofstra University with a double major (int’l business & Asian studies), she began her career in New York as an investment analyst with Goldman Sachs. She moved to St. Thomas over 20 years ago to join her husband Vivek in a family-owned luxury retail business. Two of their three boys are Antilles graduates (‘20, ‘22), with the third in high school. She is rejoining the Antilles Board after stepping down as a three-term trustee and Board president several years ago and is also an Executive Board member of the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands.

Damien Lysiak is currently chief investment officer for Spyglass Capital Group LLC in St. Thomas. He previously held senior management positions with the International Private Bank LLC, IMC, Avista Corporation (a publicly traded utility company in Washington State), and Washington Trust Bank. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and human resource management and an MBA. Since relocating to the US Virgin Islands in 2014, he has been active in the community as a father to two children (both of whom graduated from Antilles) and as a board member of the Nana Baby Home.

Dr. Cecilia Penn is both a private practice pediatrician (Partners4Kids) and the Interim Chief Medical Officer for Schneider Regional Medical Center. She is a board-certified pediatrician and Fellow for the American Academy of Pediatrics, with degrees and training from Cornell University (BA); Howard University College of Medicine (MD); New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University (post-graduate training in pediatrics); and Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health (MPH). She and her husband, Averad, have two children, one of whom just graduated from Antilles (’22) and one in high school (’24).
